Meet the Authors

David O'Brien is Assistant Principal at Ballincollig Community School, where he teaches Biology, Science, and Maths. He lectures part-time at UCC and serves as Biology Convenor and National Assistant Treasurer of the ISTA. David is co-author of Essential Science, and a long-standing SEC examiner.
Jennifer Groves is Head of Science and Biology at Blackrock College, Dublin. She has experience teaching across multiple international curricula including the International Baccalaureate (IB). Jennifer is Higher Level examiner for Biology.
Stephen Murphy is a lecturer in Science Education at University College Cork. Prior to this, he taught Leaving Certiﬁcate Biology and Computer Science in Gaelcholáiste Mhuire A.G. in Cork City.
